Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we handle for this website and the Relevo plugin. The data controller is Sergio Santos, trading as Relevo. Contact: sergio@relevotech.uk.

This website

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't set any cookies. Like every website, our host keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) for security. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to send them.

When you buy

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. They collect your name, email, billing address and payment details to take payment, charge tax and send your licence key, under their own privacy policy. We receive your name, email, country and order details so we can support you and manage your licence. We never see your full card details.

In the plugin

• Licence activation: Relevo sends your licence key and an anonymous computer ID (a one-way hash) to Lemon Squeezy's licence service when you activate, and to re-check it about once a week. No computer name, user name or project data is sent.
• Map and elevation data: to build a terrain, Relevo downloads data directly from public services (for example AWS open data, Copernicus, national mapping agencies, OpenStreetMap and OpenTopography). Those services see your IP address and the area requested, as with any web request.
• Update check: Relevo may read a small file on our website to see if a new version exists. Nothing about you is sent.
• API keys you enter (Google, OpenTopography) stay on your computer, and only if you tick "Remember". They are never sent to us.
• Support files are only created when you choose to, you can read them before sending, and they exclude your keys.

Emails

If you email us, we keep the conversation to help you. If you ask to be told about new versions, we use your email only for that, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Why we may use your data, and for how long

We use it to provide what you bought (contract), to keep business and tax records (legal obligation, usually 6 years), and to answer your messages (legitimate interest). We never sell your data.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing sergio@relevotech.uk. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
